 Today we:

·      practiced rounding and did a game to practice 

·      had a rubric and a Chromebook and we checked over our porquois wetland stories for editing before submitting them to Mrs. Swaroop

·      played a game called "crazy soccer" (we had to use different items to play soccer)

·      had some catch-up time to complete unfinished work 

·      met our new teacher, Ms. Clark who we will have for the rest of the year (Ms. Clark just returned from Maternity Leave for her second daughter)

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today we: had our morning meeting did our word work played a doubling game in math and continued to practice factors, multiples, and prime/composite numbers did reading, reading groups and literacy centres did a survey to see how the grade 5 classes at NLS were doing (we did this on the computer) continued our discussion about reversible and irreversible changes as well as review about what acids/neutrals/bases are and the PH scale did drumming in music class!

 Today we: -Listened to the story "The Wish Tree" and created wish ornaments for our wish trees at Northern Lights. We will be putting up the trees and placing our ornaments tomorrow during Makerspace. -Learned about four ways to start writing the beginning of a story, including an action, a thought or question, a sound, and dialogue. We wrote a story beginning as a class and practiced writing a story beginning about a camping trip independently. Then we started planning how we will start our pourquoi story beginning with our wetland animal. Reminders: -PJ Day tomorrow. Please do not bring stuffies to school.
