Hello!

Today we:
  • did "drum fit" in gym - ask me about it & see photos below
  • continued to practice linear equations in math - see photos below
  • did reading, literacy centres and reading groups with Ms. Clark
  • did art in the afternoon - we did Metis Dot art (connecting to what we learned about last week with Indigenous art. 

Reminders:
  • Mrs. Brinson sent out an important email to NLS families today - please give it a read if you haven't already!
  • May 3rd - Hats on for Mental Health
  • May 5th - PD Day

Hello NLS Families! Today was an exciting day as we went on our Field Trip to TELUS Spark! We had a chance to have a lesson about electricity where we got to test out many different devices, circuits, etc. We also got a chance to explore around the various indoor/outdoor exhibits, which was really amazing! Thank you so much to our volunteers! - we truly appreciate you! See some of the fun we had below! Photos Reminders: May 3 – SPIRIT DAY: Hats on for Mental Health – Students may wear any hat they wish in school that day. Hello! Hope you had a great Wednesday.  Today we: did our "morning meeting" and discussed the question of the day with our classmates did word work played a new game in gym class (we suggested a bunch of new names for it, but we don't know what Mr. Newton decided on yet) - but we practiced serving lots in it.  had a virtual author visit! We joined in with 5000 other students to listen to a book called "Little Owl" by Teoni Spathelfer (a Canadian Author) - this author visit was also surrounding topics of bullying and pink shirt day.  played a new math game practiced our basic facts and graphing in math today  did observations about our borax crystal (its growing!) learned about types of paragraphs and began to write a persuasive paragraph about "the best food in the world"

Today we started off with word work. In PE we played a game called Santas Workshop and we had to ride on scooters to the middle of the gym and get presents for people and then on the third round you had to pick up each others feet and bring them to the middle. We finished our main events in writing. In math we practiced large numbers in word form and ordering. We each got a large number and had to present them to the class on the smart board. In social we learned about the Atlantic region!
