 Today we:

  • did a gymnastics obstacle course (ask me about how we got to watch our gymnastics skills)!
  • recorded our Minecraft videos (though some people didn't quite finish and will need to finish first thing Monday morning). 
  • practiced division a bit more (we are almost done our unit and will do a long-division check-in next week) - ask me to show you how to do long division this weekend!
  • played literacy games and did independent reading! 
  • also did science reading about electricity
Reminders:
  • Monday - dress up as a outdoor enthusiast or something related to nature
  • Wednesday - earth hour in the morning
  • Friday - dress in blue and green (and community walk for electricity) 
  • Walk and Wheelie to school next week in hour of earth day!
  • Bring in Field Trip form by next Wednesday April 19th 
  • If you want to volunteer for our field trip please reach out ASAP.
  • bring litter less lunches next week for our "track the trash" school-wide task
  • next week we begin our health unit.

Hello NLS Families! Today we: tested the "rain gauge" weather instrument - we wanted to see how much rain fell at our school today, so we measured it all day long! It rained approximately 1.8cm during school hours - we left it out overnight, so will see if there is more rain in the morning! - see photos below did another survey and practiced making bar graphs and dot plots - ask me what question I surveyed people about! learned all about climate vs. weather  did a brain break drawing activity - see photo below learned more about Canada after confederation  finished The City of Ember - ask me about it!! Reminders: wear your favourite outfit tomorrow! bring in a white t-shirt for tie-dying!  please respond to the survey link that was sent out to families today via school messenger about the grade 5 send off!
