 Hello, today we:

  • continued to work on our donut math problem - we recorded our information in our visual journals!
  • did some fun creative work for imagination day!
  • did literacy centres! 
  • continued to work on Minecraft building

Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is the last day of school before spring break!
  • When school is done, students need to go home first and check-in with their parents/guardians, before going to play - we need to make sure everyone gets home safely! The playground is unsupervised after school. 
  • We had to have several reminders today about respectful behaviour - I know it is so close to break and everyone is excited - but please do not shout out in class as it is disruptive to other students learning. Thank you!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today we: had our morning meeting did our word work played a doubling game in math and continued to practice factors, multiples, and prime/composite numbers did reading, reading groups and literacy centres did a survey to see how the grade 5 classes at NLS were doing (we did this on the computer) continued our discussion about reversible and irreversible changes as well as review about what acids/neutrals/bases are and the PH scale did drumming in music class!

 Today we: -Listened to the story "The Wish Tree" and created wish ornaments for our wish trees at Northern Lights. We will be putting up the trees and placing our ornaments tomorrow during Makerspace. -Learned about four ways to start writing the beginning of a story, including an action, a thought or question, a sound, and dialogue. We wrote a story beginning as a class and practiced writing a story beginning about a camping trip independently. Then we started planning how we will start our pourquoi story beginning with our wetland animal. Reminders: -PJ Day tomorrow. Please do not bring stuffies to school.
