 Today we:

-Finished our Poperties of Water experiments and reflected on the guiding questions for each experiment. Students represented their observations using drawings and writing.

-Continued placing decimal numbers on a number line and discussed the importance of spacing. Equal spacing on a number line represents equal value between each of the numbers on the number line.

-We did a game in music called Guess the Instrument. Students heard the instrument and worked with their table group to guess what instrument they were hearing.

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today we: had our morning meeting did our word work played a doubling game in math and continued to practice factors, multiples, and prime/composite numbers did reading, reading groups and literacy centres did a survey to see how the grade 5 classes at NLS were doing (we did this on the computer) continued our discussion about reversible and irreversible changes as well as review about what acids/neutrals/bases are and the PH scale did drumming in music class!

 Today we: -Listened to the story "The Wish Tree" and created wish ornaments for our wish trees at Northern Lights. We will be putting up the trees and placing our ornaments tomorrow during Makerspace. -Learned about four ways to start writing the beginning of a story, including an action, a thought or question, a sound, and dialogue. We wrote a story beginning as a class and practiced writing a story beginning about a camping trip independently. Then we started planning how we will start our pourquoi story beginning with our wetland animal. Reminders: -PJ Day tomorrow. Please do not bring stuffies to school.
