 Today we:

-Finished our type of wetland research project. Students finished up their Google Slides and reviewed their work using the rubric. On Tuesday students will be presenting their Google Slides by creating a flipgrid video.

-Created creatures in Makerspace using loose parts. Ask me to explain the creature I created to you! (see photos)

-Had a school lockdown drill and practiced doing a lockdown when in the gym. We had a discussion about how being quiet and calm while in a lockdown is important to the safety of ourself and others.

-Discussed the importance of never putting our hands on other people, even when we are having strong feelings. Hitting, kicking, name calling, and other unkind actions and words are never the solution. We talked about how students can politely ask a student to stop or ask an adult for help resolving a conflict. Please continue this conversation at home, as we have had multiple students in the school showing behaviours that are against our school code of conduct.

Reminders:

-No school on Friday and Monday, enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend!

-On the morning of Tuesday October 11 we are going on our walking field trip to the Country Hills Storm Pond. We will be doing activities at the pond with Inside Education connected to our wetland unit in science. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather, it may be chilly and windy that morning. Please make sure your child has an easy snack to eat outside and a water bottle.
